The procedures for settling illegal buildings will have to be completed no later than May 31st, with the Environment ministry promising to bring the final text of the bill for consultation in the immediate future. It is aiming to give the final answer to the burning and lingering issue of legalizing illegal constructions and semi-open spaces that were erected before the end of July 2011.

It is aiming to give the final answer to the burning and lingering issue of legalizing illegal constructions and semi-open spaces that were erected before the end of July 2011.
According to the ministry the settlement deadline, ending on May 31, 2013, will be the final one. The deadline for payment of the first installment to settle semi-open spaces that were illegally enclosed was also extended until the same date.
In any case and looking for a permanent solution, officials will discus:
- the legalization of illegally enclosed areas within the borders of a legally constructed building that changed use and were turned into main areas
- the categorization of planning infringements describing the excess percentage for each category
- the codification of the legislation on illegal structures.
Illegal construction on beaches, forests and reforested areas, monuments and arbitrary cases after July 2011 will not be legalized.
A period of 30 years for the settlement will especially apply to illegal buildings without planning permission or those that present large-scale abuses.
Finally, illegal structures on shorelines or woodland will most probably not evade demolition.
