"One tax on real estate" FINMIN responds to accusations about a tax storm

Responding to reports of a new tax storm and drafting of new taxes, the Greek Finance ministry announced that it will only bring one single real estate tax with a proportional charge on the property of the taxpayer, and a broadening of the tax base.

It adds that the difference in revenue for 2013 between the amounts expected to be collected from the rest of the special property tax and  the real estate tax of 2012 and of past years, will result from the expansion of the tax base and the proportionate charge regarding the size of the property.

In conclusion, the FINMIN announcement states that officials have not arrived at the final solution, which will come after their consultation with the parties supporting the government.
