UPD:
Until the issuing of the normal pension, civil servants who submit an application for retirement will receive days a pension advance equal to the 50% of their basic salary within 40.
The Finance ministry bill, which will come to parliament for public consultation next Monday, provides that retirees will receive 50% of their basic salary they had been receiving upon retirement, per month, until the issuing of their regular pension. The amount they receive will be deducted or offset against the final payment of the pension, whenever it is issued.
Due to the massive flight of staff from the public sector through early retirement, the time currently required for the issuing of a regular pension ranges from 9 months to 2 years, depending on whether there were other insurance funds involved in the event of successive insurance.
Applications for pensions rose to 33,928 in 2010 from 15,298 in 2009, fell slightly to 28,480 in 2011 and are estimated to have exceeded 30,000 again in 2012.
The same bill will include provisions that will enable the Greek State to use inactive deposits after 20 years. It will be stipulated, however, that the money will be allocated solely to support the most vulnerable population groups.
