Greece will remain in a strike grip on Thursday too due to the 24-hour strike by ADEDY, protesting against the redundancy measure, the extension of the single payroll and the tax bill.

Greece will remain in a strike grip on Thursday too due to the 24-hour strike by ADEDY, protesting against the redundancy measure, the extension of the single payroll and the tax bill.
GSEE will join in the protest with a 3-hour panhellenic strike from 12 noon to 3 pm, organizing a rally in Kalfthmonos Square. Bank employees and workers in SOEs have announced their participation.
Employees in public agencies and organizations, tax offices, pension funds, local government workers and teachers of secondary education OLME, are all taking part in the strike.
Hospitals will operate with emergency staff as the Union of Hospital Doctors of Athens and Piraeus (EINAP) and the Panhellenic Federation of Employees in Public Hospitals (POEDIN) will also join the ADEDY strike.
Changes in the public transport schedule
Employees in public transport will join the strikes today, reacting against their forthcoming inclusion on the single payroll.
Metro, electric rail and tram workers performed a work stoppage from the start of their shift until 9 am. Today, metro and electric rail trains will run from 9 am until the end of their shift:
- trams, buses and trolleys will operate normally
- railway and suburban trains will remain docked (48-hour strike)
- metro trains will run up to Doukisis Plakentias station
Tomorrow Thursday, the metro, electric rail and tram will remain docked throughout the day.
Flight cancellations
Some discomfort awaits flight passengers as well due to the 4-hour work stoppage (12 pm – 4 pm) of the Federation of Civil Aviation OSYPA. Olympic Air has also announced cancellations and modifications.
