UPD:
The Greek government is on red alert after yesterday's leak of important documents from the Finance Ministry regarding the state debt, consultancy and other company payments, telegrams by the services and also hundreds of passwords on computer systems.
As revealed by Imerisia, yesterday afternoon the case took on new dimensions when "according to information from the police, there were no electronic footprints confirming external violation of systems and theft of documents. It seems that there were no hackers that invaded the computers of the General Accounting Office, but that it was internal sabotage. That is, it was theft of documents by Finance Ministry officials, who submitted them for publication for unknown reasons so far."
Some sources speak of "hood wearers" inside the General Accounting Office who export documents, and did not exclude a link between this case and the burglary that took place in Deputy Finance Minister Christos Staikouras’ office in early July, when strangers stole his diplomatic passport and other documents, as well as with another case of document leaks by a ministry official, who was caught in the act.
The case is considered extremely serious because leaks may be rampant as it is still unknown how many documents have been stolen and what the intentions are of those who want to publicize papers that could be highly confidential.
