Police are on a widespread manhunt to arrest lifer Michalis Makriyiannis who escaped from Larisa prison violating his 5-day prison leave.

are on a widespread manhunt to arrest lifer Michalis Makriyiannis who
escaped from Larisa prison violating his 5-day prison leave.
49-year-old Makriyiannis was serving four life sentences for 5 murders, 3 attempted murders, injuries, a series of armed robberies, exchange of gun fire with police officers and other criminal acts.
This is not the first time he has escaped. The first time was in August 2006 when he did not return from his 5-day leave from Alikarnassos prison. But he was arrested in Chaidari on October 18, 2007, along with two more criminals.
