DIMAR: “Tsipras crossed the line of political misery”

Fotis Kouvelis’ party accused Tsipras of “political misery and lack of integrity” after the statements the latter made about a government with ND, PASOK and DIMAR.

According to the party’s announcement, “…Until yesterday, Tsipras was asking us to stick to our known position and  not succumb to forming a government without SYRIZA. Today, at the conclusion of the meeting with Papoulias, Samaras and Venizelos, the party’s leader said we had a deal to support a Memorandum government together with PASOK and ND, leaving SYRIZA out. This is shameful. The obvious inability to explain his stance should not allow him to slander and lie. This is political immorality”.

Before the current developments, Fotis Kouvelis had insisted on a national scheme with the participation of SYRIZA.

The DIMAR head said at an interview with national broadcaster NET that he will meet with President Papoulias and present him once more with the suggestion of a national leading coalition, with the participation of all parties which agree to the need of Greece to disengage itself from the Memorandum but remian inside the Eurozone.

Kouvelis added that the result of the talks with the President should be in written form, so that the engagement is specific and totally understood by the Greeks. “From then on, each one should be responsible for his/her actions”.

Last but not least, he clarified that DIMAR wishes for nothing other than implementing the people’s will as this was
marked on May 6.
