After the first meeting of the intra-party committee at the Interior ministry yesterday, there was disagreement between small and large parties about the distribution of television time.

Reportedly, there was divergence between PASOK and ND on the one hand and the other parties on the other concerning the allocation of airtime. The two major parties did not want to retreat from their 75% and smaller parties replied that public opinion surveys show that the correlations have changed. Major parties retreated to about 70% of airtime, and later ended up with 33.3% each.

According to the ministerial decision, the advertisements of all parties on television stations nationwide will correspond to airtime worth 6 million euros.

During the meeting, the Social Alliance raised the issue of election financing. Michos, who represented Katseli's party, asked to dismiss this funding, but Interior minister Giannitsis said that the law will be applied. It should be noted that 60% of election funding is allocated to the parties that were elected in 2009 and 40% to parties that will make it to parliament in the next elections.

Greens Ecologists, while not initially invited, eventually participated in the meeting since their party is represented in the European Parliament unlike ANTARSYA, whose participation request was not accepted.
