Papademos on elections: "Have a little patience"
After the meeting he had at the presidential palace with Karolos Papoulias concerning the election date, Lucas Papademos replied to journalists’ questions with the phrase “have a little patience”.

At the same time ND, through its representative Yiannis Michelakis, requested that elections take place immediately, while Alexis Tsipras issued a stern warning about the possibility of their postponement, calling the PM to stop the “hide and seek with the election date”.

Elections must take place immediately, stated Mr. Michelakis in every direction and noted that April 29th and May 6th are dates covering all the requirements.

According to New Democracy’s representative, immediate elections are a matter of consistency and democracy. He underlined that “it is the demand of the people to choose a new government, to give hope and perspective to the country”; this is the reason that ND is asking for a clear majority, adding that the opposite of autonomy is not co-governance but lack of governance.
