New meeting between Dallara and Papademos today, Friday

PM Lucas Papademos and Finance minister Evangelos Venizelos talked for about two hours at Maximos Mansion on Thursday night. They will meet again on Friday afternoon, with all information pointing to an imminent agreement. 

However, according to government sources, the issue now is not the PSI but the measures on which the Troika insists in order to allow the loan agreement, on which Papademos briefed the ministers during the extended government meeting on Thursday night. 

However, Berlin too announced on Thursday the agreement on the Greek haircut. German chancellor Angela Merkel today expressed her appreciation that the negotiations on the bond exchange program between Greece and its private creditors are on the "right track". 

Deutsche Bank AG CEO, Josef Ackerman, agreed with this assessment. "The talks on Greek debt have made ​​good progress and negotiators are close to an agreement," he said, speaking on CNBC on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
