A 2-day strike blackout throughout the country
Both the private and public sector will be paralysed by the two 24hr strikes by GSEE-ADEDY and by the occupation of services and ministries, all in protest against the multi-bill on contracts, GOC wages and redundancy.

GSEE-ADEDY will meet on Wednesday at Pedion tou Areos (11am) and Thursday at Syntagma (11am), while PAME will organise separate rallies in Omonoia at the same time.

Public transport

Transportation will be difficult this week too, since employees in public transport are taking part in the strikes.

OSE and suburban rail will not operate until Thursday while trolleys, ISAP, metro and tram will carry out work stoppages.

Both for Wednesday and Thursday, from 5am to 9am and from 9pm till the end of shift, buses and trolleys will remain docked.

The metro will operate after 9am so that people can take part in the rally.

ISAP employees will stop from 5am to 10am and from 6pm to the end of shift on Wednesday, and on Thursday from the start of shift to 9am.

Taxis, trucks and lorries will not operate on Wednesday and Thursday either.

Thessaloniki will also remain without public bus service for 48hrs.

Tram employees will stop from the beginning of their shift until 8am and from 8pm to the end of the shift on Wednesday, and on Thursday from the start of their shift until 8am.

Air traffic controllers have suspended their 48hr strike and according to an announcement, they will stop from midnight on Tuesday to 12pm on Wednesday.

Ships will remain docked until Friday. According to PNO’s announcement, there was no response by the government and by secret voting, they decided to extend the 48hr strike until 6am on Friday.
 
Public servants

Public servants and POE-OTA are taking part in GSEE-ADEDY’s 48hr strike.
 
Banks

Bank employees are also taking part while Agricultural Bank employees decided on consecutive 24hr strikes from Tuesday.
 
Academics, teachers and professors

Secondary and higher education teachers and professors are also taking part in the 48hr strike.
 
Druggists and dentists

Attica dentists and druggists will perform a 24hr strike on Wednesday.
 
Bakeries

They will be closed on Wednesday following the decision of their federation.

Commercial stores


Will remain closed on Wednesday.
 
Gas stations

Will also remain closed on Wednesday.
 
IKA doctors and hospitals

IKA clinics will remain closed until the end of the week, while ESY doctors will occupy administration offices and funds, taking part in the strikes along with all health care employees. EKAB will operate under emergency stuff.
 
Lawyers and judges

Lawyers will strike until October 19, while judges will perform 3hr work stoppages from Monday (from 12pm onwards). Judges have warned they will not take case files home and will only perform their duties in the courts under the statutory timetable.
 
Tax officials and customs employees

They will strike until Thursday, while finance ministry employees will strike indefinitely from October 27.

Prison employees

They will also take part in the 48hr strike by GSEE-ADEDY and have announced a 24hr strike for Friday October 21.

During their strike the following will not take place:

 -   visits by relatives of prisoners
 -   visits by lawyers
 -   pick-ups and transfers of prisoners
