Castanidis snipes targeted at Koutroumanis about his approved NGO hirings

Interior Affairs minister Harris Castanidis accused the Labour minister Yiorgos Koutroumanis of giving the go-ahead for certain NGO hirings. The accusation was in a way made publicly, as Castanidis spoke of the matter when asked a relevant question by a reporter.

The incident proves that ministers cross their swords on a daily basis.

Castanidis meant the 55.000 newly hired people who are not going to be tested or interviewed in order to get the job, but instead their posts were simply “handed” to them when Koutroumanis gave his OK.

Both government officials, as well as opposition, ones have expressed their disagreement on the “handling” of the issue, saying that this government has caused great disbelief in the policies followed by the leadership when it comes to social justice, job seekers and layoffsduring an already difficult period.

Castanidis made clear he believes that Koutroumanis will take every possible step that leads to transparency since he is already trying to avoid further criticism on the issue.
