Two ancient "Kouros" statues back to Ancient Corinth museum

During a special ceremony on Tuesday evening, they were returned to the archaeological museum of Ancient Corinth after they had been stolen by smugglers who had them unearthed during an illegal excavation in the Klenies district of southern Corinth.
Police arrested antiquities smugglers in May 2010 and the stolen statues were sent to the National Archaeological Museum in Athens for restoration.
According to officials, smugglers had demanded 10 million euros for the statues.
Culture Minister Pavlos Geroulanos represented the government.
