Archbishop Ieronymos appeals to businessmen

Αrchbishop Ieronymos, in a personal letter, has asked all businessmen in the country to infuse money into Greece’s economy so as to boost and refresh it as much as possible. Among other things, Ieronymos brings up values such as generosity and self-denial in order to try and convince the recepients of the letter to stand by the side of the “crisis-hit” Greek citizens.   

“During a period of crisis, turmoil and national adventures, the difficulties and problems the people are undergoing reveal the true magnitude of the dramatic moments the country is experiencing. But it is during these times that values such as generosity and patriotism stand out”, wrote Ieronymos.

It is evident that deeds of great Greeks have helped the country at troubled times through donations. On top of that, the church has always proved to be of assistance to people in need; especially after WWII, it was its donations of resources from the ecclesiastical fund that boosted the country, thus giving it a push to move forward.
 
“Please, do allow me to express myself from the post I hold and share with you my anxiety concerning the near future, and ask for your love and sensitivity towards your motherland” wrote the Archbishop, thus making a plea to all businessmen around Greece to help financially.

Ieronymos made it clear that the church will help wherever possible and by any means, underlining that God will be the judge of all, as well as the one to “reward” all those who will contribute in a positive way to Greece'e overcoming this situation.
