New problems with Attica's trash
The programmatic agreement between ESDKNA and the Decentralization administration on the construction of four waste management plants and support projects at the Keratea and Grammatiko landfills is up in the air.

The programmatic agreement between ESDKNA and the Decentralization
administration on the construction of four waste management plants and
support projects at the Keratea and Grammatiko landfills is up in the
air.
The purpose of the program contract in question was the international public competition for the completion of Regional Planning with the construction of a waste recycling plant.
The operation of these mixed waste treatment facilities comes prior to the construction of the planned residue landfills in Attica. Consequently, the decision of the overseeing council is temporarily blocking the construction of landfills in Grammatiko and Keratea.
“We will study the ruling but we do not believe that there will be a problem, as we will give additional information to the Auditors’ Court”, stated the Secretary of Decentralised Administration, Mr. Ilias Liakopoulos, to protothema.gr
The Panhellenic Federation of Local Authority Employeers resorted to the Courts, seeking to withdraw Act No. 1/2011 of the Fifth Auditors’ court, which stated: “There is no problem with the signature of the submittes plan for a programmatic agreement between the Decentralized Attica Administration and the ESDKNA on the contruction of four waste treatment plants”.
They felt that the terms of the program contract’s budget and timelines are too vague.
