They are lighting candles in the memory of Manolis

The residents of the area where Manolis Kantaris was killed will carry out a procession with candles and a memorial service in the memory of the 44yo father.  

Since the day that Manolis died stabbed by three foreigners, many people have been gathering at the site of his murder, some to leave flowers and others to express their rage over this hideous crime.

For two days now hundreds of citizens have been at the site of 3rd Septemvriou where the 44yo, a father of four, was killed. In fact, there have been violent incidents between far-right organizations and immigrants. On Tuesday afternoon, members of these organizations beat savagely on a foreigner while they attacked other immigrants who happened to pass by the murder scene.

Today’s gathering will be guarded by police forces due to the fear of incidents, and authorities will be on high alert for new clashes between far-right group members and immigrants.
