An incredible article has been uploaded on the front page of Der
Spiegel’s webpage. The German magazine has repeatedly, in the past,
published articles hostile to Greece
The piece of news, titled “Griechenland erwägt Austritt aus der Euro-Zone”, cites government sources from Berlin who claim to know the Greek government’s intentions to withdraw from the Eurozone and return to the drachma!!!
It also supports alleged information that the Finance Ministers of the Eurozone are attending a secret meeting in Luxembourg tonight in order to deliberate on the issue.
The meeting allegedly involves German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble who, during said meeting, will try to prevent Greece’s withdrawal from the Eurozone.
The article refers to daily demonstrations and public opposition to government policy which, according to the magazine, has led Prime Minister Papandreou to consider returning to the drachma.
The article was posted on the website at 18:45 EET, while a short time ago Reuters cited statements by Secretary of Finance, Philipos Sachinidis, who denies all allegations.

Mr. Sachinidis denied the information in the article in his telephone contact with protothema.gr journalists, while the French had already done so a few moments earlier.
Simultaneously Guy Schuler, a spokesman for Eurogroup President and Luxemburg Prime Minister Jean Claude Juncker, categorically denied all allegations made in the German article.
“No such meeting exists” he stated, making it clear that as far as he knows, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble is not in Luxembourg.
