Reuters has dedicated some not-so-flattering lines to Greece today, in an article on the efforts of the Greek government and its aim to find new funds by selling the properties it has accumulated in the past century.
With the catchy title “Selling Property a la Greca”, the article is focusing on the declarations of the government that it will sell public companies such as the Public Electricity Company, together with buildings, land etc. The article pinpoints that “it's not at all certain that there will be any property deals in a country hoping to escape bankruptcy by selling property worth billions of euros”. The journalist uses a few examples such as the efforts of the Government to attract investments for the former Elliniko airport in collaboration with Qatar, something that fell out as he characteristically says.
The journalist does not encourage investors to look into the Greek case, since the scandals such as Vatopedi are too big to ignore, and analysts around the globe are not very confident the government will find 50 billion euros, but even if they manage to find the sum, this won't save Greece.Δείτε όλες τις τελευταίες Ειδήσεις από την Ελλάδα και τον Κόσμο, τη στιγμή που συμβαίνουν, στο Protothema.gr
