DEI sponsoring its own union body
Τhe General Supervisor of Public Management, Mr.Leandros Rakintzis, deals with the payments of DEI to GENOP (its own union body), in his report submitted today to the Ministry of the Environment
UPD:
"The relevant provisions in the signed Contracts of Group Workplaces are invalid and are not applicable, and the decisions of the Management Officials of DEI are illegal"
Τhe General Supervisor of Public Management, Mr.Leandros Rakintzis, approaches thus the payments of DEI to GENOP (its own union body), in his report submitted today to the Ministry of the Environment
According to the Ministry, from the report it is evident there are legal questions arising from these payments and the Minister Mrs.Birbili send out a letter to DEI, asking for all payments to stop immediately until the issue is resolved. Mr.Rakintzis has also filed the report at the General District Attorney of Athens.
In the report it is "obvious that there are funding/sponsorships from DEI to GENOP, actions against the law that does not allow for an employer to give any kind of money to its Union Body, unless it is for charity activities. We believe these payments are illegal".
Furthermore, DEI seems to not control or monitor any expenses that it covers for GENOP. From the investigation it appears that luxurious presents and trips have been made by people that are not even in the Union Body, and although DEI initially refuses to cover these expenses, in the end it actually pays for them.
