Papoulias meets Rompuy

President of Democracy Karolos Papoulias welcomed Mr. Van Rompuy with a realization: the gravest problem of the financial crisis in Greece is the lack of social continuity and conciseness.

Mr. Papoulias thanked Mr.Rompuy for “everything he is doing in order to promote some of the Greek requests in this great battle of the country”, noting however that one “cuckoo does not bring spring”, as the Greek saying goes.

He acknowledged that “the working class is suffering” whilst saying “We gave and we continue to give”. “The gravest efforts are made by the Greek people and the government”.

Today Mr.Rompuy has been meeting with the Prime Minister George Papandreou since 13:30, and at the end of the meeting there will be a press conference. The President of the European Committee will be part of the conference of the Greek Foundation of European and External Politics with the topic “Greece and Europe: Building the future in difficult times”.

The government is specific that the issue of resructuring the debt won't be on the agenda.
