They ousted Mitsotakis from the police officer's funeral

President Emeritus of the New Democracy party Mr. Konstantinos Mitsotakis was ousted from St. Vasileios Church in Peristeri, where the 23-year old police officer John Evangelineli’s funeral service was being held.

Mr. Mitsotakis, accompanied by his trusted bodyguard Manousos, was the only politician who decided to go to the funeral of the young policeman.

When Evangelineli’s relatives got wind of the presence of New Democracy’s former president, they could not contain their anger. “Get up and leave, shame on you, what are you doing here? Fishing for votes…”, were just a few of the words uttered in anger by ordinary people who stood by Evangelineli’s family.

It was just after two on Thursday afternoon; the anger and indignation of the people that attended the funeral of the murderered DIAS group motorcyclist was so great that the Honorary President was forced to leave the church.
