Bear eaten in Grevena!

Horror and indignation has been caused by news that a bear in Grevena was used as a “main dish” on the Christmas table of a well thought-of citizen of the area, who was hosting a party for guests coming from western Macedonia and Ioannina! The host presented the head of the unfortunate wild animal as a “trophy” between courses!
This unprecedented disclosure was made by an anonymous resident of Grevena to the environmental organization “Callisto”, who also reported that there are photographs revealing that the bear was the main dish and clearly shows the faces of those present at the table.

“Callisto” dispatched a letter to the Regional Directorate of Forestry, the Forest Service and the Ministry of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change, which states that this is a criminal act: “This highly illegal act of 'cannibalism' puts the darkest of blemishes on the citizens of Grevena and becomes a negative advertisement of the otherwise beautiful area of Grevena.

A letter sent to the Grevena prosecutor by the Hunting Federation of Macedonia and Thrace, calls for immediate intervention and expresses concern about the long delay between the incident and its being reported, but also about the fact that no one brought a complaint against the perpetrators, which resulted in the concealment of the facts and the guilty parties.
