Parcel bomb at the Ministry of Defense

A red alert has been declared by police forces after a new envelope bomb was discovered. The envelope was to be sent to the Minister of Defense, Mr. Haris Kastanidis, and police fears there are other trapped packages sent to political targets.

The anti-terrorist unit is speculating that most probably members of the terrorist group Conspiracies of the Cores of Fire are behind the package, since the modus operandi is very similar to all the other parcels sent out on the 1st of November.

A source from the Ministry of Defense stated that “:the connection between this dispatch and the current trial of all the individuals prosecuted for participating in the organization, is apparent” and he adds that “what worries us is that in this particular case, the bomb would definitely cause many casualties because it was very powerful”.

Everything occurred on Wednesday morning when via courier, the Ministry received an envelope sent by the “Initiative of Training Lawyers”, which caused suspicion to the security team of the Ministry and when they realized such an initiative does not exist, they called the bomb squad, who defused the bomb by means of a controlled explosion.
