Robbers might be connected to terrorism
The police is looking into possible connections to terrorism in the recent arrest of two individuals in Thessaloniki.
The police is looking into possible connections to terrorism, in the recent arrest of two individuals in Thessaloniki. The two robbers, who usually robbed banks, and their movements are suggesting to the police they might well be linked with the world of terrorist groups, and especially the Conspiracies of The Cores of Fire.
23-year-old Rami Syrinos was arrested by police officers, when after an extensive search of police officers his accomplice, 28-year-old Kleomenis Savanides was tracked down and taken into custody. They had robbed an auction that took place at 2pm yesterday, prior to their arrest.
The police confiscated from the 23-year-old
-A CZ 75B weapon loaded with 15 bullets
-An RGB-type hand grenade
-A portable walkie talkie with earphones
-Several clothing items – possibly used for disguise
-a leather case containing 35.947 euros, two checks of 530 euros and 2,000 euros respectively, all by-products of the robbery.
The second man was arrested near his house and the police found after searchinhg his and a friend's house
-an airgun
-pepper spray
-a wig
-texts and notes that refer to anarchist ideas and context
-a seal from the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki Architecture School
-student bus tickets
-student IDs
-USB drives
-keys and phonecards
-small amounts of cannabis
-a PC and two laptops
All discoveries are being examined by police.
