Samaras to Papandreou: "No consensus"

The Prime Minister met today with all political leaders to discuss the forthcoming European Committee on Thursday and Friday. The meeting with Mr. Antonis Samaras, leader of the liberal party Nea Dimokratia, lasted for one hour and ten minutes.

"Mr. Papandreou does not want to agree with any of us on the financial decisions. He just wants us to approve the decisions he has already made" said Mr. Samaras. He also asked from the PM to change his course of action because "the economic crisis has driven citizens to despair and the country to a mess". Nea Dimokratia "has voted on 33 items of legislation of the government without being interested in the cost, as we do today, but we can't accept the employment measures that take us back to the Middle Ages" he pointed out.

Aleka Papariga, leader of the Communist party, said there was no discussion of internal affairs, but it felt more like just a brief rather than anything else. "We wont be agreeing in anything. We'll talk in the Parliament. The war has just begun" she said.

Mr. Karatzaferis, leader of the far right party LAOS said "I was the first to ask for a  consensus, but i cannot be the burier of society".

President of Syriza Mr. Tsipras refused to meet with the Prime Minister, saying that "instead of 'fake meetings', the PM should come to the Parliament and support this abortion of a legislation".

After his meetings there will be a Ministers Council where the following laws will be discussed:
Laws on Business Competition, Simplifying of Professional Activities, etc. that fall under the province of the Ministry of Development.

Also laws on the developement of public transport in Attica, and laws on the health system will come under discussion. Lastly, legislation referring to the creation of a Service of Asylym and Hosting of Refugees will be debated.
