Deputy Labour Minister: Minimum wage payouts to begin 'right after elections'
About 400 euros per month for unemployed and socially vulnerable groups
On Sunday Deputy Labour Minister Vassilis Kegeroglou said in an interview to private TV station Mega that the guaranteed minimum wage to unemployed and socially vulnerable groups will begin immediately after the elections.
According to Mr. Kederoglou, the amount will reach about 400 euros per month depending on income and assets, with additional assistance in kind.
These will include programmes for re-entering the labour market, reduced Public Power Corporation electricity rates, heating subsidies and health coverage.
He also added that the measure will be fully implemented by 2015.
