Samaras: Any MP who wants to be a candidate in the European elections should resign
As Interior Minister Yannis Michelakis clarified the incompatibility is an internal process of the New Democracy rather than a rule for all political parties
Prime Minister Antonis Samaras decided to place the incompatibility issue on all New Democracy candidates for the European elections, as Interior Minister Yannis Michelakis revealed to radio station Vima FM.
However, Michelakis clarified that the incompatibility barrier is an internal process of the ND rather than a rule for all parties, confirmed that citizens can put up to four crosses and that there will be one constituency.
Asked to comment on the nomination of Yannis Sgouros, now Prefect of Attica, for which many members of the party have spoken in positive terms, he said he is not a good prefect, but hasten to explain that this is his personal opinion.
