Total costs and unpaid obligations of General Government moved within the set targets although there were deviations in ministries and state bodies.

Overall, as the Greek MOF announced, and based on the figures of target achievement for 2013, the incurred costs and the change of unpaid liabilities are lower than the target by 982.7 million euros or 1.9%.

As is known, new fiscal rules and practices for all general government bodies were introduced from the current financial year. Among other things they provide that all bodies should prepare a monthly allocation plan of their budget as the basis for determining their quarterly targets.

For the realization of objectives the Greek officials looked over the expenditures of each institution and the change of unpaid obligations in relation to those they had formed in 31/12/2012.

The overall picture of the year shows the total expenditures and changes in unpaid obligations achieving the set goals. That is, the management has been tested and discipline has been promoted in the part of public spending, resulting to the return of fiscal policy interventions responding to initial estimates, while also reducing the overdue debts of the Greek state.
