SYRIZA in front with 1.8%, high rates for Samaras and undecided voters

The majority of Greek citizens does not want national elections - Battle for third place and between KKE and Golden Dawn - ANTARSYA and V. Polydoras’ Union enter the race for parliament

SYRIZA maintains a 1.8% lead in the voting intention for the European elections and 1.4% for the national elections against the New Democracy, in accordance with a GPO poll broadcasted by Mega Channel that shows a poor performance for the two biggest parties.

The survey captures a large percentage of undecided for the European elections at 19.7%, while PM Antonis Samaras maintains the lead in suitability for the premiership at 42.6% against a 30% for the SYRIZA president Alexis Tsipras.

The classification of the political parties in the voting intention is as follows: SYRIZA 20.8%, ND 19%, Golden Dawn 7%, KKE 7%, PASOK 5.3%, ANEL 4.5%, Democratic Left 3.5%, ANTARSYA 1.8%, Union for the Fatherland and the People (V. Polydoras) 1.3%, New Greece 1% and none of the above 3.7%.

4.2% say they will not vote, 1.2% they will cast a null and void or white vote, while 19.7% said they have not decided yet.

In voting intentions for the national elections the result of the same research gives the following figures: SYRIZA 21.4%, ND 20.2%, Golden Dawn 7.2%, KKE 6.1%, PASOK 5.6%, ANEL 4.4%, Democratic Left 3.8%, ANTARSYA 1.4%, Union 1.1%, New Greece 1% and none of the above 3.9%.

No to parliamentary elections

62.2% are against early elections, while asked whether national elections should follow in case SYRIZA comes first in the European elections, 41.6% answered positively and 56.6% negatively. Particularly high is the percentage of those who believe that SYRIZA is not ready to govern and reaches 74.2%, and only 24.8% think that the opposition party can assume governmental responsibilities.

65.5% is in favor of any sacrifice to remain in the euro, even if 63.4% believe that the economic situation will worsen in the coming months.

30.4% have a positive reaction of the intended cooperation on the Center-Left and 17.5% say they might for vote such a formation in the European elections. 14% say they might vote a new formation to the right of ND.

Lastly, in relation to the Golden Dawn, 36.8% opposed to the possibility that it is not allowed to participate in the next elections, while 32.8% believe that it is not a criminal organization.
