Kapernaros, Kikilias and Repoussi are the three MPs who sent money abroad

MPs Vasilis Kapernaros (Independent Greeks), Vassilis Kikilias (ND) and Maria Repoussi (Democratic Left), are the three MPs who sent remittances abroad according to a Finance Ministry announcement.
 
From the first check the list of the 24.710 remittances sent abroad, it is also apparent that during 2009-2012 money was also sent abroad by the wives of MPs Sifounakis and Kapernaros.
 
The issue of the three MPs who sent 3.5 million euros abroad was revealed by Proto Thema on Sunday.
 
Less than 24 hours after the publication of the story, the Finance Ministry issued a notice which read:
 
“The first inspection of the original list which requested evidence of justification of remittances (24.710 cases) showed MPs Kapernaros, Kikilias and Repoussi and the wives of MPs Sifounakis and Kapernarou.
 
General Secretariat of Public Works (GGDE) is looking whether the amounts are covered by the tax returns of these taxpayers and has no data or power to check their tax statements.
 

The process of auditing some of these cases is in progress and Kikilias’ case is one of the 531 targeted cases.
 
Kikilias provided full evidence of justification which is being reviewed.
 
The completion of the audits will come as soon as possible, so there is no possibility of misinterpretation. We remind, however, that it is a mistake before the completion of an audit to think that there actually is delinquent behavior. To this end, we remind that in the recently audited 44 cases only 12 (27%) showed hidden incomes. The majority has provided justification for the amounts of remittances.”
