MOF: Troika must understand that our economy has positive results

Stournaras is getting ready to give an answer to the Troika as it denies everything. According to what was said by a leading member of the economic team "the representatives of our creditors must finally accept that the developments in the Greek economy are much better compared to the initial estimates and that the positive results came faster than expected. Especially on the basis of the budget execution for December, on one hand the increase in revenues covers a part of the gap for 2014, and on the other nobody can challenge the creation of a primary surplus."
 
As revealed by prototothema.gr, Troika raises the fiscal gap of 2014-2015 even up  to 14 billion euros. But the same MOF member confirmed that the Troika insists on its tough stance and does not accept a number of proposals submitted by the Greek economic team.
 
As a MOF official said, the representatives of Greece’s lenders have not accepted the equivalent measures proposed by the Greek side to keep the VAT at 13% in catering and the new single property tax, while they are rejecting the measures proposed for the covering of the fiscal gap of 2014.
