Lagarde List: 50 million euro fines in the first 150 audits
The Financial Crime Unit (SDOE) has completed the first 150 audit findings for taxpayers included in the Lagarde list, imposing fines totaling at more than 50 million euros.

As "Ta Nea" newspaper writes, citing SDOE sources, "in the completed audits we haven’t found a taxpayer who has not hidden money from the IRS."

The fines are imposed at a rate of 45% in the resulting difference between the declared income, funds that have been sent abroad and fines resulting from tax legislation.

Meanwhile, beyond the classic cases of large tax evasion, SDOE audits reveal bribes with low-ranking officials of the National Defence Ministry in armament cases, usury and fuel smuggling with dangerous consequences for public health.
