Lagarde list case file reaches Greek parliament

The Lagarde list case file, along with the memory stick that contains the names of Greek depositors at HSBC, have reached the Greek parliament.

The economic prosecutors that have dealt with the case avoid making any references to ministers by name, but hint at former finance ministers Y. Papakonstantinou and E. Venizelos, saying “we ask that you proceed to investigate any possible criminal liability of then-government members who received and managed the relevant CD.”

Among other things, the text file reads: "We hereby transfer the financial crime prosecutor’s statement and the attached preliminary criminal file formed by himself, in order to ascertain the circumstances under which the finance ministry received the compact disc (CD) with the names of Greek nationals who maintained deposits at HSBC in Switzerland, which was reportedly given to the Greek authorities by the finance ministry of France, as well as the way the included material was utilized by its recipients. Attached to the above file is a sealed envelope with the memory stick that is said to have been reproduced by this CD, with the names of Greek depositors at HSBC, which the economic crime prosecutor submitted together with the associated case file."
