Progress, but with a 4-bil. gap
Progress, but with a 4-bil. gap
The list of measures that will pave the way for the next tranche or the extension of the Greek program until 2016 is entering its final stretch, albeit with some difficulties.
UPD:
Although a source from the Finance ministry assures that there was progress in the discussions with the representatives of our lenders, sources involved in the meetings for the drafting of the program reported there is still a gap of 4 billion euros.
Reportedly, Yannis Stournaras wants to close the package until Sunday. The cuts of 750 million euros in government operating expenses and a large piece of cuts in Health and Defense are still "thorns" in the consultation with the Troika.
As other sources believe, it seems inevitable that the retirement age will increase from 65 to 66 or 67. Information from the ministries of Finance and Administrative Reform repelled nearly every thought of dismissal of civil servants, although they are showing that officials are seeking solutions in redundancies or early retirement from the public sector.
