today at the first meeting of the new political secretariat of PASOK,
its president Evangelos Venizelos pointed out the need for a new midterm
program for Greece, covering the period from the second half of 2012
until the end of 2016.
As he said, without the updated midterm program, which will take into account the new macroeconomic data and especially the deeper recession, we cannot close the budget of 2012 nor prepare and submit the 2013 budget as a bill on the first Monday of October as provided for in the Constitution.
Venizelos brought back the issue of extending the fiscal adjustment period and PASOK’s position that this government should be in office for four years.
