Reforms with greater intensity requested by the B.o.G.

A focus on reforms with greater intensity in order to make up for lost time for the economy, is dictated by the monetary policy report published today by Governor of the BoG, Mr. George Provopoulos.

The report underlines positive developments, with the approval of the second economic program for Greece and the successful completion of debt restructuring, but stresses that structural changes are a prerequisite for the stability of its course and for the markets to regain confidence in the Greek economy.

Mr. Provopoulos believes that recent developments can act positively and repatriate funds from overseas, but its recovery and the restart of the economy are prerequisites for the restructuring of the state, the completion of reforms in labor and insurance, privatization, anti-fraud and anti-corruption actions and the successful absorption of the ESPA funds.
