Five of a total of 21 MPs expelled because they downvoted the second memorandum, are returning to the New Democracy party. According to a letter from the president of ND, Antonis Samaras, to House chairman Philipos Petsalnikos “MPs Alexander Dermetzopoulos, Anastasios Karipidis, Manolis Kefalogiannis, Theofilos Leontaridis and Zisis Tzikalagias are now part of the ND parliamentary team”.
The five MPs had voted against the new loan agreement on February 12th, 2012, and were removed from the party. They are now returning to the party after Antonis Samaras’ call to arms.
