Papademos is handing out work
At 3pm Lucas Papademos will present to his ministers the prerequisite actions, following the approval of the pre-memorandum in parliament, and he will point out that nothing has been judged and Greece should not provide excuses for our intentions to be challenged.
UPD:
At 3pm Lucas Papademos will present to his ministers the prerequisite
actions, following the approval of the pre-memorandum in parliament, and
he will point out that nothing has been judged and Greece should not
provide excuses for our intentions to be challenged. Apart from the bills on supplementary pensions, deregulated professions, etc., our lenders’ first priority is the signatures of the leaders, one issue that Antonis Samaras wants to avoid; thus, he is asking that the assurances be made either by letter to Barroso or, preferably, to the Greek prime minister.
According to his colleagues, today or tomorrow Lucas Papademos will close the pending issue of the government's members. According to his colleagues, he wants Makis Voridis to remain in his office and supplement the government only as concerns Xenogiannakopoulou’s position in the ministry of Foreign Affairs and Yannis Koutsoukos' one in the Labour ministry. The prime minister is on an open line with the party leaders and the two ministers, Stavros Dimas and George Koutroumanis respectively.
According to the government statement, the issues of the cabinet will be the following:
- PM’s announcements: prerequisite actions under the new economic program
- bill: "supply of security services by armed private guards on merchant ships and other provisions", by H. Papoutsis, Minister of Citizen Protection
- bill: "the acquisition of medical specialization, continuing education of doctors, reshaping KESY, establishing scientific communities and other provisions", by A. Loverdos, minister of Health.
