Tsipras: The country in need of a left turn

Speaking at a meeting in Peristeri, SYRIZA P.G. President Al. Tsipras explained his proposal for an immediate creation of a new power based on the Left.

Tsipras said that "the country is in urgent need of a left turn," to address the "unprecedented tragedy" experienced by workers and Greece," since as time passes, the dead ends of the memoranda policy become more visible."

He accused the government of undertaking the "feeding of the recession with measures, until the complete collapse and sellout of the country, which the new loan agreement provides for to the last detail."

He also expressed the view that the new loan agreement, apart from the harsh measures, is providing for the sale of public wealth and the conversion of the law governing the Greek debt from the Greek to the English system, which will mean the complete disarmament of the legal advantages of our country.

He predicted that "sooner or later, the Greek people will stand up, and a new coalition authority will undertake the reconstruction of popular sovereignty and the rehabilitation of social rubble."

He attacked PASOK saying that its leadership is a state of utter political collapse and that no one is starting a serious conversation about the policy that led them to this point. "Unfortunately for them, the conversation was initiated by the Public Prosecutors asking the court to investigate the methodical subjecting of the country to the memorandum."

ND did not avoid Tsipras’ fire. "In our political history we have rarely seen such political adventurism as we now see from Samaras’ party."
