P. Kapsis: "The PSI will not fail"

Minister of State and government spokesman Pantelis Kapsis expressed his hopes that today's Eurogroup meeting will make serious decisions to cut the Greek debt.

Speaking on NET Radio, Kapsis said there is no case of failure of the negotiations on the debt exchange, but he acknowledged that there are issues to be resolved.

Regarding salaries in the private sector, he said the matter should be treated with flexibility and added that the issue of competitiveness is at the top of the list. "Not all sectors of the economy face the same problem of competitiveness," he said, and invited the social partners to seek a solution to this problem.

The government spokesman pointed out that "there are no inexpensive solutions" and gave as an example the possible reduction in insurance contributions and the need to find the corresponding resources for the insurance funds.
