"If the PSI is delayed, we will revisit the matter of elections"

“I have to add something on the topic of the signature requested of Mr. Samaras”, stated ND representative Mr. Yiannis Michelakis and added that ND remains true to the five institutional actions, to which Mr. Samaras has publicly committed himself in relation to the October 26th agreement,

Mr. Michelakis stated that the EU has not submitted any request concerning Mr Samaras' signature.

Regarding the tenure of the Papademos government, Mr. Michelakis stated that the framework of principles agreed upon during the political leaders' meeting in the presence of the President is in effect.

Within the framework of principles, the government has the task of implementing the Agreement of October 26th and going to elections .Mr. Michelakis added that the Venizelos group, who knew the road map of PSI, agreed to elections on February 18th.

“If the process is delayed, we will see”stated Mr. Michelakis, who also made it clear that in no way will there be a long-term extension, as proposed by Mr. George Karatzaferis.

He noted that the negotiation on the accompanying measures of the agreement will be taking place in mid-2012 and will be initiated “by an ND government”.

Moreover, replying to a question, he stated that ND’s positions on the reserve labour force are in effect.
