Papademos wants his own people in the economy team

The information reported earlier by protothema.gr was confirmed, since the alleged favorite for the position of PM, Mr. Lucas Papademos, seems to be requesting his own economy team, without this meaning that he is advocating complete change of the current team.

The former VP of the ECB, former Governor of the Bank of Greece and advisor to the PM has been in Athens since 17:30pm, arrived from Boston, and has been having top-level contacts with PASOK and ND.

From these contacts, it is clear that Mr. Papademos wants to choose his own economy team.

This development, even though it is not surprising, shows that the finalization of the Papandreou-Samaras agreement requires more time in order to be realized.

Within the context of the fermentations in order to establish the new government, the PM and the leader of the opposition are on an open line.

Messrs. Samaras and Papandreou had their first discussion today at 14:300. As government sources made clear, there will be others, while there is a chance that the two leaders may meet today or tomorrow, depending on the outcome of their talks.
