Formal request from Australia for Greek engineers and builders

Australia has decided to open its doors once again to immigrants from Greece because of the crisis the latter is undergoing, but this time under different and stricter conditions.
 
And it is through these conditions that Australia thought of replying to all those expatriate organizations and unions that witnessed with awe the number of Greeks wishing to move to the country constantly going upwards.

The latest data shows that more and more Greeks seek a way out of their present reality and turn to the Australian embassy in Athens for information about the work permit they need or the necessary visa.

There are many who think that the phenomenon - if generalised - will be reminiscent of past times, during which the Greeks of the ‘50s and ‘60s were abandoning the country in thousands.

After the Greek community of Melbourne pushed the Australian Immigration ministry to take some action on the matter, the country said they would organize a two-day event in Athens, on October 8 and 9, for all those interested in immigrating to Australia in order for the high officials from there to explain the employment prospects the newcomers will have in their continent.

Bosses from Australian firms or their spokespersons will also participate in the event, and they might even hire people on the spot if they find applicants who match their criteria.
