Unresolved issues trouble PM’s associates regarding his TIF presence

Although the government has dismissed the rumours that had the premier altering his TIF plans, there is still a tough puzzle to be solved when it comes to the preparations for his visit there.

Crucial issues that concern social and financial problems, governmental promises and main goals have yet to be resolved. Moreover, it is expected that things will get even harder as days go by because society is becoming angrier with the leadership.

The dramatic failure of the fiscal programme, combined with the painful super-severe taxes, is causing an intense headache to the Greek government and there are fears of mass protests and uncontrollable rage on the part of the people during the days of the TIF.

For the moment, government sources are speaking of possible changes to Papandreou’s timetable so that he appears in public only when necessary and as few times as possible.

The final decisions will be made according to last-minute needs and the existing social climate at the time in question.
