Teargas marks the postponement of PASOK's conference

The regional PASOK conference on the issue of development was postponed after extensive incidents shortly before its commencement around the hotel where the conference was scheduled to take place.

Hundreds of taxi owners from Western Greece blocked the road outside the hotel and stone throwing ensued, followed by extensive use of chemical teargas from riot police, who attempted to push back the protesters. According to reports, the complaints about the use of teargas are numerous, since tens of families were staying at the hotel, and even more people were on the nearby beach. Everyone left hurriedly, after the atmosphere became painfully suffocating from the teargas.
