The economy team of the government is reaffirming its intention to go after the major debtors and major owners according to their status and lifestyle.

While the Greek question has been at the top of the agenda of the Eurogroup and Ecofin meetings, the Finance ministry in Athens is once again targeting taxpayers with property in Mykonos and Santorini, those with commercial properties in Kolonaki and those with property in areas of high zone prices within and outside of Attica (Ekali, Kifissia, Psychiko, Filothei, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza, Halkidiki, Panorama in Thessaloniki, Corfu, etc.).

In addition, the ministry will be targeting state debtors who will be receiving funds from the State, as well as other individuals: pharmacists, DOY debtors who are abroad, suppliers of the Health ministry, owners of property leased by the ministry of Culture, etc.

According to the “progress reports” by the 5 groups on the battle against fraud, as presented by the ministry, approximately 8.500 individuals who, although liable, had not submitted a Statement of Large Property tax in 2007, are high on the list of impending audits, along with 110 debtors of the State found to own villas and expensive real estate.

In particular, priority will be given to a series of categories with large real estate property such as:
Κλείσιμο

-  110 individuals with the highest property value in 2007
-  150 individuals whose statements are being investigated
-  1.700 contractors who did not declare income from constructions
-  9.173 individuals that did not submit an SLP statement in 2007
-  those that did not submit an SLP statement for one year or more during 1999-2007

As it becomes clear from the reports of the working groups, there is an ongoing seizure of assets of those who have outstanding debts to the State, including those who owe more than 200.000 euros, suppliers of chains of electronic stores, large companies, supermarkets, singers, etc.
