Regional elections candidate murdered the astrologer

The man who pulled the trigger and murdered a well known astrologer and his 38-year-old secretary in cold blood was finally caught by police.

The police managed to solve the crime, two years after the heinous act occured, on the 26th of February 2009, in an apartment at Kissavou 4-6 in Chalandri.

The murderer seems to be a 36-year-old male who was a candidate in the regional elections with the extreme right wing party Chrysi Avgi, a man implicated in the past in cases of “godfathers”. In a search that took place at his home, the police found seventeen bullet shells of different calibers.

According to the police it is a death contract, with no information so far about who ordered the hit. Everyhting points to the possibility that financial differences were behind the double murder.

The investigation picked up after a random police search when a man was arrested carrying the gun that was thought to be the murder weapon. The man said the gun belonged to someone else and pointed the finger at the 36-year-old man. The gun had been concealed for quite some time in the area of Spata.

From day one the police knew that the motive was not robbery as the apartment was not broken into. In fact, the motive for the killings had to do with the activities of the astrologer who declared himself a professor of astrology and editor-in- chief of an astrology magazine. The murderer killed the woman simply because she was there and therefore a witness.
