Papakostantinou's favourite up against the IKA national insurance service

Mr. Raptopoulos, the owner of Express service, is at the moment in a very difficult position, whilst also making Mr. George Papakostantinou feel very uncomfortable, since he tried twice to bring to parliament legislation that would annul any debts the three companies under Mr Raptopoulos’s ownership owed to the Greek state.

And this is due to a trial that Mr. Raptopoulos is currently facing for false tatements to the IKA nsurance service.

According to sources, Mr.Raptopoulos has today been charged with making false statements, whilst 6 IKA employees have also been charged with issuing the false insurance statements.

It is characteristic that the charge is a felony and that is why it has been assigned to the 3-member Felony Court. If the charges are denied by the defendants, it will go to the 5-member Felony Court. The trial commenced today and Mr.Raptopoulos was present, as well as the employees; however the court was adjourned today because the session exceeded the court working hours.

According to Proto Thema reports, the total debt to IKA of the three companies that Mr.Raptopoulos owns is roughly 37 million euros!
