30yo special guard dead

At 3.30am today, in Solonos 83 Str. in Kallithea, unidentified persons armed with Kalashnikovs shot and killed a 30yo special guard and injured a 26yo Albanian.

The two men were inside a private car driven by the special guard, who was serving at the Kallithea police station and was off duty.

The car was parked at the side of the road when the perpetrators, possibly riding a motorbike, stopped behind them and fired more than 20 bullets at them. This resulted in the death of the 30yo special guard and serious injury for the 26yo Albanian, who is now being operated on at the Evangelismos hospital.

The motives of the bloody hit are yet unknown; however first estimations don’t rule out the possibility of a terrorist attack and the relevant investigation is carried out by the Department of Crimes Against Life and the Attica Police Force.
