Pharmacists are pushing almost beyond the limits

A strike escalation was decided by the Board of the Pharmacist Union concerning their actions for the next few weeks.

The final decisions on further strikes will be made this week, while the three-day strike on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is still on.

The minister of Health, Andreas Loverdos, warned that the state will move to the provision of medicine from state hospitals in case the pharmacists refuse to provide them during their strikes

"We do not seek a confrontation. We will not bother ourselves with violent measures that lead to clashes. But we will take social survival measures if the pharmacists decide not to provide the public with medicine during their strikes. They should begin to consider that their strikes put human lives in danger", Mr. Loverdos stated

He also added that, in the case that pharmacists request a prompt reimbursement for medicine, the public sector will immediately respond with payments
